Testing out a weighted chassis on slippery flooring

Just as an FYI, you may want to check your width of your robot.

The C-Chassis is assembled in a way in that picture that I believe may be too wide.

Basically what I’m trying to get at, is you may need to move the shorter channels that are bracing the wheels inward towards the center of the chassis to be within the required width requirement.

Other than that, it looks like a good start!

No worries – it’s just the test chassis!

I would double check that statement. I was looking at the CAD model off the AM website last night and that is how it is assembled. I did a double take too, but Solidworks says it’s within the allowable 38".

Actually, I’m somewhat curious how accurate the model is, because the depth is only 26.5". We haven’t started cutting ours yet, so I don’t know if that what you get when you go widebody, but I’m kinda curious…

That’s kind of why I used the words “may” and “believe” in the wording of my post and not anything more definite.
I know we moved ours inwards while performing some testing with it, but I’m not sure if we did that for extra support to have channel against channel contact, or because we tend to keep things way under size (more than 1" less than maximum dimensions), or for another reason (ie: It was too wide).
I’ll have to check that with the actual chassis when I get back to our meetings on Tuesday night.
