Only team representing 2011.

I like the graph. This is the information I get from this data.

It looks fairly flat with a slight downward trend in number of teams qualified for DCMP by rookie year as time goes on starting at 2005-ish as number of teams per year goes up. 2003 rookies, 2005 rookies, and 2008 rookies all qualified for DCMP, while the max number of rookie teams qualified for DCMP seems to top out at about 5 DCMP teams per rookie year with 2013 having 6.

Only 20 out of 54 teams that are 10+ years old missed DCMP, (63% made it) while only 24 out of 78 teams that are less then 10 years old made district champs. (31% made it) Also, not shown in the graph, all of the 2017 district event chairman’s winners are 10+ years old.

Thanks for putting this together! It is an interesting way to look at our districts success rate by age of a given team.

Were there that many active rookies this year? I thought there were really only 5 or so.

6307, 6312, 6313, 6469, and 6486 didn’t compete this year at any event. It looks like they are on The Blue Alliance, and I believe that is direct from the FIRST website. I don’t know what happened with those teams. But, you are right Mike, there were only 6 rookies competing this year.

Yeah, I caught a couple of these and manually removed them from my later charts, but have been unsure how to best handle these teams. 5862, 6312, 6313, are shown as having competed in Rumble in the Roads, but have never competed in official FRC events. Should I exclude them from my analysis?

These pre-rookie teams we paired with veteran teams robots to let them experience an event. I would keep their data. They registered and paid but didn’t manage to compete. That is a failure that needs to be tracked.
