Did the corner of your robot gouge it?
From the looks of it, they might not have completely cleared the low bar.
Oh wow, I didn’t even see the bar lying on the floor, I was looking at the gouge in the wood!
I think they completely cleared it.
Cleared it off the platform!
They likely just went over it at an angle and knocked into the support. The way the team drawing is, makes that piece quite weak.
The robot easily clears the low bar. Unfortunately the robot clears it at a speed that leaves the bar swinging fast enough to break the defense.
I like the sneaky collector in the corner.
Looking good!
We can easily clear it, when we don’t miss side-to-side! That’s what driver practice is for.
We flipped the wood 180 and reattached the sides of the low bar yesterday so we’re back to practicing.
Thanks. This is the earliest the team has ever finished a robot. We’re doing our driver testing this evening, so we should have an established driver with two full weekends and hours of practice on top of that by the time competition rolls around. Indiana districts should be fun.
Welp, with driver selection and practice this weekend all the defenses took a beating. We broke the low bar twice, the rock wall, the portcullis had to be reinforced, the cheval de frise is in questionable health, and one of the ramps got ripped off of a defense base.
It’s been fun. It feels like we have a battery powered, remote controlled incredible hulk running around.
They say break it earlier rather than later but I think they are referring to the robot and not the field.
