I love how you guys have built simpler and more effective robots every year. Keep it up!
How did the belt-in-tube hold up this year? I know 2791 moved away from it due to ground clearance issues and worries about strength, but then they had issues with 25 chain as well. Any issues with the belts ratcheting or failing under the unusual conditions of this year’s game?
Thanks, we have worked really hard to change/improve how we do things and it has made a huge difference. I really wish we were going to FLR this weekend
The belt-in-tube held up great with no issues in comp and on our practice robot. We ran our practice robot hard for 30+ hours and had no issues.
The past 2 years we have put together the drive and not touched it once after initial assembly.
One thing we did do the past two seasons that I do not think you guys did when you were on 2791 was to counter bore the pulleys so the bearings can sit flush on the tube. It makes putting it together a little easier as they kind of hold the pulleys in place.
