Well, only the top tote has its CoM to the right of the scoring platform. I just can’t believe that they didn’t have enough momentum during slide/tilt to topple. Pretty cool pic.
Don’t know how that’s still standing, but it’s awesome.
For your next trick, try balancing a salt shaker.
What match is that. Is there a video?
It was at the Georgia southern classic regional in our second quarterfinals match. The totes were getting stuck so we had to push a little harder to get it up. Didn’t see any video from the whole match, but in our post GSCR video we do have some video of it about 17 seconds in.
Looking at the video, I’d score this stack a zero. The stack is loaded from the left side as being viewed in both the photo and the video, and slides down the ramp, coming to a rather distinct (if wobbly) stop as the bottom tote comes in contact with the carpet. As such, the stack is not wholly supported by the scoring platform, but also by the carpet.
Ah, how soon we forget.
2.1.3 SCORING PLATFORMS
Each ALLIANCE has two (2) SCORING PLATFORMS. Each SCORING PLATFORM is 1 ft. 8 in. wide, 2 in. tall, and 15 ft. 7 in. long. Each SCORING PLATFORM is a plywood base covered in White HDPE. Along both long edges of the SCORING PLATFORM there are Platform Ramps. The Platform Ramps are also made from White HDPE, but are not considered part of the SCORING PLATFORM.
(emphasis mine)
Would have liked that in Caron quarterfinals
looks like at 104 of the vid they got a little help from team 4189
Did this count? Or did they consider it supported by the floor?
Doesn’t matter, the ramp is not the scoring platform, and so the totes are not on the scoring platform. See GaryVoshol’s post above.
