At Panther Prowl a few weeks ago this happened in a qualification match, you should have seen the field people trying to dislodge it
Train horn…
Couldn’t you just walk up and pull it out? I wouldn’t call it a field fault since it isn’t blocking the goal or anything.
I meant during the match
I’m not sure that it needs to be fixed really. If it got jammed in there from the shot it wouldn’t have scored anyway. Plus, if this is the first time its happened since Week 1, what are the odds it will happen again?
I’ve seen that happen in a human-played basketball game. I think it’s ruled a jump ball. As far as during an FRC match, I’d be inclined to leave it until the end of a match, but I’m not sure if there are any ref rules about a stuck game piece.
As long as this doesn’t clearly affect the scoring of subsequent game pieces, I would think it should be treated like a ball “stuck” under the bridge during a match.
If you really needed to fix it, could pokey-stick guy use the 3 in.-ish looking hole in the diamond plating to dislodge the ball? Looks like it’s the lowest goal since the fender is so close and there is diamond plating so I don’t know if there would be enough ground clearance for that. Then again, I would guess most teams would be rolling balls into the lowest goal or not going for it at all, so I doubt this would impact the outcome of a match.
