I think your design depending on those tiny little L brackets to hold the frame together (In addition to the plate going across the rear) is going to prove to be too weak. That sheet on the bottom is not going to be very sturdy. At the very least I’d make those L brackets triangulated gussets. I’d recommend adding some real cross beams. Your frame is one place you don’t want to have to ever worry about bending or breaking. If it weighs a little more, the peace of mind of knowing your base will be rock solid is well worth it, in my opinion.
Your right, if you look in between the l brackets thats angle iron welded and that going to be welded to the 4 inch square tubing. Also i’m going to add cross bracing in between. 1X1. But i’m waiting till i add the forklift part.
Are you going to be adding any more support to the motors?
And I like the engraved MADTOWN and wolf(?).
yeah we will be, our retiring principal wanted the wolf. It’s a school thing
it definitely adds a cool effect to it.
Where are you going to add the forklift at?
I keep updating this thing and i am hoping to complete it before the end of summer. We as Madtown Robotics finally got our own forum going and i keep updating the pics to photo share site:

Tell me what you think guys
answers my question.
My next one is, got any of them in high res?
Then the one after is- What is the structure in the 3, 4, and 5 pic?
Yeah which ones do you want and the 3,4,5 pic are pics of our kick but new cart thats not fully drawn yet.
3, 6, 7, 8 if you can please.
The cart looks like it’ll turn out pretty neat, too. What you need to do is put some lights underneath it. We did that with our cart this year and it turned out awesome. I’ve seen some other teams do that, too. But not to many yet (so I think…)
The last ones are the robot frame with a forklift design in the process of being created.
It looks like you have a way of connecting it already, so I was curious as to how it was going on. Mind explaining what your idea is for that?
Well i was planning to make a poof type forklift with bearings. Two 108:1 banebot gearboxes to lift the whole thing. I was going to take out some of those 1x1 brackets and weld supports across. As for the electronics i was going to lay them in the back. We’re planning to meet as a team on wednesday, so i was going to ask for input. The purpose of this bot, is
a. To get better at Solidworks
b. To build an actual forklift that works
c. To get Freshman and other kids excited about the upcoming season by building.
d. To have a working practice bot without too much work.
