pic: Our vex robot for quad quandry

Here is our vex robot, which will be competing at the QCC scrimage tomorrow in Worcester. Unfortunatly, we will be unable to enter any official events, so we figure it is “safe” to put up pictures of our robot. It can score on the 3 point posts as well as mass scoring in the 1 point goals, and can grab onto goals with the wings. Please post any questions.

that robot looks very nice!
how fast does the arm move?
what is that sensor on the arm?

Thanks!

It can go from bottum to scoring position in a little over 5 seconds

The device on the side of the arm is another motor used to operate a mostly hidden pulley system that draws the hook up and down. The hook grabs rings by pressing down on them, which causes them to flip up to vertical, and ring themselves around the hook. The pulley system can then either raise the hook to keep them solidly on the hook, or lower it, to drop them on the goal. The wings are used to hold the goal firmly in place, as well as increase our range for drawing rings into a position where they can be picked up.

The plow/goal holder is a nice feature. Why aren’t you going to a tournament?
