I would like to know how it works.

  1. What do you have on the tip of the cylinder that is sliding?
  2. Even if there is something that is helping it slide, how is that piston not bending? In that angle, if you apply 150 pounds, I would think they would bend, but I may be wrong.

  1. I’m not sure what you’re asking. The piston is connected to a clevis, allowing it to swing. At the end of the piston is simply an aluminum disc that works better than a conventional nut for ground contact. This picture is at a bad angle, the piston pushes against the ground, not the robot.

  2. The front wheels of the robot being lifted are on top of our robot’s deck, not the ramp, so the pistons aren’t supporting the full weight of the robot.
