Our town recently had their annual “Walpole Day” with a parade, Duck Race, and a field filled with tables from various local businesses, clubs, sports, etc. Traditionally held the same day as Battlecry, so it all depends on if we get in that. This year we didn’t, so we brought six robots to show off, including this one to drive for a buck. Considering it drove on asphalt for over 3 hours on a very warm day, the robot performed well, and the wheels (wrapped in duct tape) survived. We had an excellent spot (thanks Walpole Rec Dept!), plenty of kids driving, several interested adults (future mentors?), and everyone having a good time. If nothing else, this year we have to build a parade robot!
