Please tell me this is a joke, FIRST asks each year that teams not take the pit signs and considers it steeling if they do. If this isn’t a joke then please package and send the signs back to FIRST with an apology. Also that fire can can cost over $100 for one that size and the chemicals that it contains and probably did not belong to FIRST but to our very accommodating and amazing host the Georgia Dome and World Congress Center.
It is not gracious or professional to steel anything from anyone.
What I took away from Atlanta was one of the best and most inspiring events of my life and I will never forget the amazing people and teams that I had the pleasure to interact with.
We had permission, I swear. There was a lady putting everything away and we asked if we could take the pit map, signs and banner. She called her supervisor and said yes to the signs and no to the banner.
BTW, the fine extinguisher is ours, I’m not sure why it’s in the picture.
Oh dear, we seem to have a humorless man here. No, this is not a joke. But it is a joke, if you follow. We asked for and got permission to take the signs, as Kelly has stated. We did NOT steal a fire can, nor did we steal the fire extinguisher that is shown in the picture, it is one that we keep in our shop for safety purposes. It is neither gracious nor professional to assume the worst of your fellow FIRSTers.
And that is not all you took away. Not everyone got a Chairman’s award to remember championships by.
Finally, we did not “steel” anything. We did not even steal anything. Except for the toilet paper. And the kid on the left.
Wait… were we not supposed to take the team number signs? One of our awesome engineers was packing up our pit and stuck one of the 648 signs in our bucket and the other in my computer bag… I’d gladly package them back up and send them to FIRST if this is a problem. BTW, I knew about not taking the pit signs.

Just a side note: Kyle is a very humorous person, as well as all of MOE. **
They made an announcement late in the day Saturday requesting that teams don’t take home the pit signs. I also believe they stated it in the manual, but I may be mistaken.
I was only going by what I saw in the picture, I admit that I did jump to the conclusion that the signs and the fire extinguisher before asking if you had permission to take the signs that I am sorry for and you are right that I should not think poorly of fellow FIRSTers before asking questions.
Side note, I am a Fire Fighter and I call them all Fire cans just a wording error, and for the “steel” and steal thing, I am really really really bad at spelling anything if Firefox fails pick up that I spelled it wrong or used a word the wrong way then I’m screwed and look like a moron like I did above in my last post.
Just to clarify I didn’t take the Chairmans award home my whole team did I was just a part of the puzzle.
So once again I am sorry for jumping to conclusions I have learned not to do that and I hope that you will forgive me.
