That drive set up looks just look our!! But, why the low ground clearance?
We are just learning that only having one Universal Hub on the AM Mecanum Wheels creates a bit of wobbling action.
We ran into a similar issue, we’re making a device to center the wheels without another hub.
As far as the ground clearance goes, we wanted it to be low since we dont plan on driving up any ramps
The wiring layout really looks nice!
Thanks for pointing out the wheels!
Its not done yet, this is just whats been finnished as of 2 hours ago. Bracing of the drive shafts and motors have yet to be mounted. So far we havent seen much of a difference between pressure on each wheel, so a suspension hasnt been a concern. But I’ll keep it in mind.
They can be in an “X” or an “O”. As long as the identical ones are on opposite corners, they should work. (different programming, though) The advantage of this type is that it’s harder to spin around by pushing than the “X” layout. See here. And, for one of the best ones out there, see this picture and find the associated thread
I stand corrected! I didn’t know that the rollers would work in any orientation other than an “X”! The “O” orientation does seem to make sense for being pushed around. Like I said, I am no expert on Mecanum drive by any means! Thanks!
I love it! So organized, so clean, so tidy!!! It’s beautiful!!! Keep up the awesome work.
wowie zowie batman, that’s almost identical to our setup (hopefully the wheels will come in in about 9-10 days -yeep-). very tidy! props to you guys. how’s it run so far? is there going to be a mechanism mounted to it? -is curious-
edit: i just noticed the top left wheel is missing a roller… and that some of the spikes are labeled ‘claw’ and ‘ramp’ and suchnot… pardon my lack of observation in the first post lol
Yes, it is missing a roller, 4 actually. They were missing from our order…
And very observant about the spike labeling, but shhhhhh
