lol I just called one of our Machine Shop Sponsors seeing if he could find out if we could get powder coating done at the shop behind him. He calls me back and says

“Sure they can do it, they actually just did a robot yesterday, the guy says ‘They are some crazy bright pink color,’ I guess he does it for them every year.”

Hrmm… I wonder who they could have been referring to… lol.

Which brings up the question, why is 1902’s color orange? Shouldn’t it be a nice light pink?

pretty much huh? haha

Orange for the explosion? Might just be because of my team color, but orange>pink.

I can’t imagine what kind of grabber goes on the end of the arm that works for this year… especially with R16… can’t wait to see it.

Pink > Orange any and every day of the week.

Seconded.

telescoping is far more complicated than an arm that uses mechanisms similair to drawer slides and its a lot harder to build/fix. i personally dont recomend them, but whatever suits you guys, happy building!

LoL because Pink is pink?

Our colors are green and orange I guess pink is kind of in there as well but more like a sub color, its the same with white. I guess bacon is brown? Our logo has the pig riding on a rocket which is orange and green you can see it at team1902.com.

Also there aren’t many orange teams in Florida but a fair amount of green, so thats why I think it seems to play out in our shirts.

Only reason why our Arm was orange last year was so we could see the thing on the other side of the field easily.

Plus much like Pink, when fluorescent green and safety/neon orange are powder coated on a robot they look obnoxiously awesome. lol

Nice telescoping arm…i also love the pink…lol great color.jk

We’ve had a telescoping arm in 2k-1 (I’m fairly sure) 2k 2k2 2k4 2k5 2k7 and 2k8:D

It is a good bit more complicated, but we’ve worked out alot of the kinks to where it is a bit harder to machine but pretty easy to fix and wonderful in performance.

be afraid… be very afraid… :stuck_out_tongue:
