Presenting Team 296 The Northern Knights robot NK11

Specs
4 Wheel independently turned wheels
350 Degree Turreted Shooter
10 Ball Capacity

Its been a lot of work this season but its all worth it. Can wait to compete in New Jersey and Waterloo. See you there

The robot looks great, and is packed with a lot of nice features. My favorite part? The 4 light covers from '01! (Those are classic!) If you can make it through the entire season with all 4 intact I’ll be impressed. Nicely done 296!

Bengineer

I would be utterly shocked if all 4 survive as well.

Nice bot guys!

Having everyone sign on the carbon fiber was a nice touch, I wanted to do the same.

good luck guys

I’d say success from the 2006 season should be a pretty good indicator of success in 2009…

Great job!

Another awesome entry from Team 296!

I have to say, you guys were our inspiration this year! When the game came out, during our design phase we said “Remember that robot that the Northern Knights had in 2006? Let’s see if we can find a picture of what they did!”

Best of luck to you guys - not that you need it, I’m sure you will be headed to Atlanta again with that one!

Best regards,

Steve

We found the light covers lying around our shop and they were the perfect size. Sadly we have already broken one. So does anybody know where we could get a new one.

When designing this years robot we just looked at the major problems we had in 2006 and fixed them. In 2006 our two big problems were the turret was side load instead of bottom and the hopper would get jammed. We fixed this by bottom loading the turret and instead of using a hopper we made what we called “a series of tubes” to bring the balls to the shooter

It was great fun working on this robot this year
And as Mike said it was truly a daunting task improving on such an amazing robot(2006).
I addition to all of the improvements Mike stated we even improved the drivetrain. All we can hope for is to have it run reliably throughout are regionals because the key to our teams success in 2006 was reliability.
Thanks for all of the great comments and good luck in your regionals!!!

It was lots of fun, and all made in house! can’t wait to see it in competition:)

looking amazing there mike, i’ll have to drop by the workshop and check out that beast

Wow, never thought I’d see Loyola doing a swerve. Looks great! I’ll be seeing you in Waterloo.
