In the waning days of build phase, our robot kept coming together then getting torn apart then coming together…
We never got a chance to take a picture of the whole thing prior to ship.
So, here is the CAD model of our 2004 robot. Pix of the whole robot, assembled, will have to wait until St. Louis.
That looks like it has some sort of articulated suspension, not too different from the Mars rovers. I’m curious as to what kind of wheels those are and how and which motors drive them.
Our suspension allows us to climb the 6 inch step. The wheels are 6 inch skyways in pairs (attached to custom made hub). Each wheel has it’s own gearbox and motor - Bosch x2, CIM x2, FP x2.
