Practice bot. Named in honor of long time mentor Rodney Leong. Participating in the Hawaii Regional and the Silicon Valley Regional.
As always, excellent work!
Easily and consistently, Hawaii’s Best Engineered Robot.
Its great to have you back after a year off!
Beautiful! It’s great to have Kika Mana back in the game this year.
Very well built robot this year. I just have one question. For your wings/catcher, is that bent square aluminum tubing? If so, how did you bend it? Thanks.
Hi, just completed and survived our first comp day at the Hawaii Regional. Yes, the wings are bent square aluminum tubing 1" x 1", 1/16" thick. We used a tubing bender from Probender.com its a nice air over hydraulic unit and has a manual pump as well. There are many high quality units from different companies such as JD squared. What we like about the probender is that its on wheels, and doesn’t need to be bolted to the ground to work. They have dies for all sorts of tubing and has a large capacity. If you get the bender, you will want to look at the Bendtech software which tells you how to layout the tubing and where to place it from the end before bending to make complex shapes. It takes into account the bending radius and springback. I highly recommend them. If we didn’t have the bender, we would have welded the tubing at 90 degrees. Saves time. We had to use 6063 tubing as 6061-T6 would snap (we tried). Anyway, sorry we didn’t respond sooner. We were prepping for the Hawaii Regional.

Wow… You have probably the best driven swerve I’ve seen this year. Being able to shoot with the intake up looks awesome, I think it’s one of the attributes that separates the best catapults from the good catapults.
Watching you guys is so much fun. I’m so glad 368 is back, this bot might be the best of all of your great robots. I will be watching you guys all season long, I think it’s going to be a special one from what I’ve seen so far.
Wow! That there is one high performance vehicle! Good luck at the rest of HIHO, though you probably don’t need it
1717 eat your heart out and 16, you have at the very least, an Aloha twin. This machine is fast. They keep getting better as this is only their 1st event.
I can’t wait til they go back to SVR next week.
That is a beautiful machine! The swerve is awesome and you guys definitely know how to drive well with it. Good luck for the rest of your competition.
You guys are killin it at hiho, stoked to see you at svr. Do you have any close up pictures of your swerve you’re willing to disclose?
Thanks! We did far better than we ever anticipated.
I looked through the pictures I have, but none of them were up close of the swerve. I’ll check with what our engineering mentors have. Otherwise, you’re welcome to take a look all you want this weekend at SVR. Can’t wait!
I would love to see some pictures of the swerve up close. Out of curiosity what speed are you running it at? We have really bad power draw issues with ours and you guys seem to be having none of it. An amazing machine one of the best I have seen this year.
Based on watching all of your matches that are on Youtube, you are in my opinion, the best robot this season all around.
Team 16, 1717, 1640. Watch out.
I’d love to see 368 on the same field with (or against :)) 16, and/or 1717 at champs… They were amazing at Honolulu! Glad, we’ll get to see them at St.Louis… via webcast
Amazing robot in almost every regard. It was a thrill to watch, an honor to drive with, and a beautiful challenge to drive against. Believe the hype.
Good luck on the rest of your season 368.

This bot is incredibly elegant. SVR just became a Pan Pacific Party. See you there!

I like the bent box tubing and those welds are beautiful.
