pic: Team #5464. Modified rhino track w/shoooter, gears, climber and fuel intake

What made you decide to go with the tank treads?

Any specs on the drivetrain power setup?

Really liking the two chamber shooter; how fast does it shoot? What about the drive train - how fast does the robot move in an open field? Can it traverse the field fast with all of the obstacles?

What about the climber? Can it easily find the rope and climb with ease?

We chose rhino tracks because A. we had them and they were paid for B. no one can move us around C. we can move anyone around D. they look cool  .

we have two CIM shifting gear boxes (3:1 and 30:1 reused from last year),

we have gotten quite good with the climber and in our best run were able to go from our shooting position to engaging the touch pad in 9 sec (avg of about 15-20 sec when being conscious),

the floor intake is fast, the shooter is has a high rate of fire however we didn’t have the encoder completely programmed by bag so we were forced to burst fire to prevent range drop, therefore i cant give any exacts on the firing rate.

Hope this helps and cant wait to compete with you this weekend

The question is will they be more useful than the KOP chassis. Honestly it looks sick, but I don’t think they were necessary. Plus many issues had come up in the past over them. Does it turn well?

It turns fantastic, since we discovered the faulty pulleys last year and brought it to andymarks attention the redesigned pulleys have not given us any problems

That is good to hear - because in this year’s game your drive train will need to be nimble and fast! No matter if you are a gear cycler, high-goal shooter, or defense, you better be ready to move quickly.

And we are still waiting for C-I to join the CMNRH - the more the merrier!

Tanks treads and a game where people are hanging round objects on pegs attached to a large central field element with no defensive protections. Nothing could possibly go awry in that scenario, right?

Use them with gusto - try some aluminum magnetry in pushing people sideways in the open field. Just take care when playing any defense around the airships.

Truuuuuuust me.

I would love for our team to get involved, but between FRC, firefighting, teaching, building kitchen cabinets and raising his family, our mentor simply doesn’t have time to drive to Becker, personally I would love it if our team got involved, I have heard nothing but good things about CMNRH from friends on 3840

Again I am looking forward to competing with you guys and great job setting up Jumpstart, it was a lot of fun meeting with people from all the different teams

Thank you, the magnets are in route
