This was one of my favourite robots this year, just because of it’s really sweet and innovative drivetrain.

What was innovative about it?

The back two wheels pivoted about the axis of the backmost wheel. This allowed the drivetrain to go over the bump by retracting the middle wheel, while behaving like a 6 wheel drop on flat ground. It could also climb on the platform by pushing the pivot wheel down so the robot was resting on the two hind wheels.
