Hello CD,

Remember the previous gearboxes posted here: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69182&highlight=mammoth.

The mammoth is about 60% done and all it needs is the drivetrain and some wiring. We are trying to have this finished before December. We will be trying to mechanize the head and the tail. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CD

wow its great any idea on final weight and what is the skeleton made of?

it would depend on how much you wanted it to do like just up and down or \ side to side would be simple

It weighs about 500 pounds right now, it is an all steel frame.

500 wow thats a lot :yikes:

what wheels were you planning on using becuase they will need to be strong

We were thinking about using omni’s in the front for turning and putting pneumatic wheels in the back. So a 6wd.

off the AM website

“Maximum workable payload, per wheel: 45 pounds”

what size pnuematic wheels ?

make sure that you have a low enough COG so that when you mave you dont just fall over!:ahh:

I was looking at that, 45 pounds. So we were going to double them up in the front and drop the center wheels a tad (1/16). So this way the weight is shifted towards the back. Then use 8 inch pneumatic wheels in the back because they are rated for 200 lbs, any suggestions on the wheels.

i couldent say probobly whatever ones you have around
