Pitsco gear dimensions

The worthless tetrix and pitsco websites have no dimensions that I can find. The 120 tooth gear “spec” tab says “120 tooth gear”. Gee, really? No diametral pitch or pitch diameter, no thickness.

If anyone has an FTC gear, can they give me a thickness and the diametral pitch? Thanks.

I don’t know the pitch of the gear but they are roughly 1/4 inch thick.

120 tooth gear is close to 4 inches in diameter
80 tooth gear is close to 3 inches in diameter
and 40 tooth gear is just over 1 inch in diameter.

Hope this helped

Andrew

Andrew, if you’ve got a set of calipers, try this: take 2 more than the number of teeth, and divide by the outer diameter (measure the outside diameter across the rounded outer surfaces of two opposed teeth). For a conventional AGMA involute spur gear, this will be the diametral pitch.

(I always assumed they were 32 diametral pitch, but then again, I never had to use them for anything. They could just as well be 0.8 module, which is 31.75 diametral pitch.)
