Pittsburgh Regional Thanks

I’d like to thank the Thunderhawks of Team 1038 and the Tigertrons of 222 for being great alliance partners at the Pittsburgh Regional. We gave everyone a great show! We all battled through our share of bumps and bruises during the elims, and I’m proud of the way our drive teams and pit crews responded to the task of keeping those bots running right to the end.

Kudos to those in the stands who cheered so hard for our alliance, including the Robocats of 379, our fellow Delphi team the Circuit Stompers of 378, and our rookie Delphi team, the Lightning Bots of 2010.

Congratulations to the regional winners 123, 337, and 247. Da Bears laid down some truly heavy defense, and 123 and 337 proved to be an efficient hanging tandem.

Special congratulations to Team 2010 on winning the Rookie All-Star award. You punched your ticket to Atlanta! Best of luck in finding the funding to attend.

Thanks to the FTA and the volunteer staff - I didn’t think there were as many repeats as I saw in Week 1. They also took special care to accomodate teams who had back to back matches with very short turnarounds. Thanks to everyone there who tried to ensure fairness for all teams in attendance.

Team 48 may actually figure out how to win a regional one day. We’ve waited 9.25 years; I suppose we can wait a little longer lol.

Look for a special video from Team 1038 highlighting our robot’s acrobatics during a practice match on Thursday.

HUZZAH TO DEFENSIVE RAMPBOTS!

Congrats to 123, 247, and 337 for winning. Great job you guys!

Thanks to 291 and 375 for picking us. We made a great alliance.

Awesome job rookies: 2279 for being in 1st, 2010, 1998, 2280, and 1990 for getting picked for elimination rounds, and all the other rookies for doing so well. This seems to be a great year for rookies.

Just heard the GREAT NEWS. Congrats to 247 for winning at Pittsburgh. 1251 won in Florida…let our Palmetto winning alliance live on! Sooooooooooo proudddddd.

Does that mean mohawks again for the mentors :-P?

222 definately has to thank team 48 and 1038 for chosing us to complete their alliance. This alliance gave us a great opportunity to show off our defense!

Also a huge thanks to all the FIRST volunteers for making this event run smoothly!

Congrats to teams 123, 337, and 247 you guys had a well balanced alliance and some crazy Bear defense.

Good luck to all the teams competing at other regionals!

We at 1038 were thrilled to be invited into your alliance along with 222, the elimination rounds were incredible with you guys! I also want to congratulate the winners from 123, 247, and 337 - you played us tough and fair throughout the finals. All of the teams in Pitt deserve to be recognized for thier effort and sportsmanship, what a great bunch. We at 1038 look forward to competing with you guys again in Buckeye, we may even get some additional aerobatic footage…:ahh:

BTW, expect to see that little video flip on a “You Tube” near you very soon…

Team 123 would like to extend a SPECIAL THANKS to team 314 “BIG MOE” for the greeeeeat play during the qualifing rounds, we were matched up with them for 5 of our 9 matches and we were able to climb the “BIG MOE BOT” each time to help us go 8 & 0 during the first 8 matches. We wanted to choose them to advance into the finals but our strategy required a 2 bot lift for the 60 point bonus “which worked well” to get us the winners Banner. Hope you guys do well in the Detroit regional… we’ll be lookin for you. THANKS AGAIN BIG MOE team 314…

Also, congrats to all the other teams, this was truly a winning experience. Great regional to attend (except the darn floors) I can’t tell you how many toll boxes I helped pick up from the uneven floors.

“Drive team coach” Joe

I would like to extend more thanks to 48 for picking 1038, and to 222 for helping make our alliance go so far.

And 48, just one, two, or four words, depending on your interpretation:

“KUKUKU-YEAH!”

More than anything, I’d like to thank Brandon Martus for his work on the field. Whenever we had a stupid problem or complaint, even when it was our own fault (like a lone aluminum chip shorting pwm pins), he was very patient and was a big help regardless of our issues. Great job Brandon!

Dan said it best, but I want to also thank 48 for choosing 1038 to be their hanger at Pittsburgh. I also want to thank Team 158 for loaning us a back-up battery for our chiclet and a radio when ours broke in the semi’s.

I want to congratulate 123, 247 and 337 for their win. I look forward to competing with you all in Atlanta.

Good luck to all the other teams, you made Pittsuburgh a great Regional and I look forward to returning their next year.

Thanks to 1708 for picking us, and 63 for being a great alliance partner (congrats on the chairman’s award too), we came close…

Also thanks to 1008 (?) for letting us borrow tools from you several times.

You all asked for it and here it is.

The famed 48 flip clip!

Yesssss… thank you.

I’d like to thank team 375-The Robotic Plague-for picking us in the first round and also team 1629 for making great alliance partners! We made a great alliance! We were almost in finals! Good luck at your other regionals…Maybe we’ll all see each other at Nationals!

Awesome - not quite a barrel roll, though.

Not quite, but a great clip.

Rick noticed that if our arms were in the right position, you may have cleared the player station wall.

And yet another reason for us to build up spare arms…
