After configuring an object for the Pixy cam, it will recognize our object and send it to our RoboRIO through I2C, allowing our robot to line up correctly. Luckily, it remembers the configurations and works correctly after a power down. For some reason, other times it will not and has to be reconfigured for the object. This cannot do if we intend to use it in competition. Can I get any help figuring out a way to not have to redo configurations?
Make sure that the automatic white balance on power-up and automatic exposure settings are turned OFF in the camera tab of Pixymon. If you don’t, the device will recalibrate to its local ambient light every time you turn it on. We struggled with this last year.
Enable white balance for a few seconds before you do a target calibration and then turn it off.
In PixyMon: Which boxes do you have checked on the camera tab?
Make sure they are all off once you get the signatures setup the way you want them to keep your settings stable.
Per the Pixymon Manual: " Disabling Auto White Balance and Auto White Balance on power-up may be an effective way to retain the accuracy of your color signatures for a given environment."
Funny, Looks like Electroken and I were typing at the exact same time …
