Our team had a hard time today finding a place to eat after the pits were closed as most of the restaurants were closed.
Which good restaurants are open after 8 pm and can accept large groups?

Sorry, I don’t have specific restaurant suggestions. I do, however, recommend that you make a reservation at a restaurant nearby (especially if your group is larger than 10-15 people), as they will be prepared for the large group and you will have a table waiting for you. Check the restaurant’s website or call them.
I saw a Charlie’s BBQ behind the convention center. Rated 4.2 stars on google.
What’s your transportation situation look like? Venture beyond downtown. Downtown Houston is mostly business oriented, so most places open late are bars and fancy restaurants.
Again, venture beyond Downtown. My recommendations for restaurants to take a large group include Luby’s, Hickory Hollow BBQ, Kim Son Chinese (actually close to the convention center), Star Pizza, the Spanish Flower, and any of the Pappas Restaurants.

There’s a large bbq place about maybe a mile.from the grb near the minute maid stadium called Jackson Street bbq that is ok and can handle large group
