Where do they go on the gearbox??? Thank you for your help.

It’s a little tough to get at first. Took us about a half hour to get it all aligned properly. Once you have the pieces right, it will be an almost perfect fit. Here’s a couple tips:
Fit the motor completelty inside the gearbox before attempting to place anything in the mounts.
If you have the bottom mount sitting flat on a table, the motor can should be oriented so that one of the blue leads is at the top-most part of the motor.
Getting everything to sit properly in the bottom mount is a good idea before you try to install the top retaining pieces. The thickest one goes in front, the thinnest roundest one in the middle, and the squared off one goes over the endbell of the motor in the back (this one isn’t quite as good fitting).
Pay close attention to the front part of the gearbox in the drawings and reality as you will see little tabs or ears that will fit right in the mount.

*When I say front I mean the end with the output shaft.
I think he meant the little circular ones that are very thin and have a weird pattern on the inside that seems to fit perfectly over the shaft they give us. They don’t seem to be anywhere in the drawing and we can’t find any info on them either.
Just for the record, we have assembled one of these gearboxes, sans aforementioned retaining ring, and it seems to work fine. Any thoughts?

You can see that First used pieces of the Aluminium tubing to make spacers for the gears. They also used the metal retaining rings to hold the shaft from sliding through the bearings. Let me know if that helps. Also, as you can see in the pictures the motor isn’t turned with the leads up they have them off to the sides.
the retaingin clipy things are soo bad! they kept on flying off the shaft, whenever we tried to turn.

Did you install the the right way. They only work one way. If you look at them they should have curve to the teeth. The concave side should be the one you place against the bearing or what ever. This way when you put pressure on it, it will try and dig into the metal and resist being pushed off. I’ll see if I can get a picture of this and post it later.
:ahh: Thanks you use the plastic rings to hold the shaft in place thanks:). Btw be very careful attaching shafts to the aluminum couple I got burs in it by trying to force a shaft into hit.Oppps

o yea, we tried that, didnt work to hot, o well…
