Shipping is getting crazy bro…
Yes it is. I’ll double check everything. Unless you put an address on the moon it shouldn’t be quite that much.
Welcome to our world
Sincerly,
Australia <3
Although in quite a few cases there isn’t even an option for shipping to Australia

Ooooooo I’m interested
I mean, I know we’re out in the corn fields here, but I didn’t think Michigan was quite that far!
I checked everything and re input the size and weight of them in the system. I don’t know if it fixed it but when I try with a Michigan address it seems correct for me. It may also be showing you the next day air rate. Press continue on that page and it will show you all the shipping options.
Ahhh, I see. It looks like the default shipping is next day air. But that price shows up as THE shipping price until you move to the next screen to change it.
When I saw that shipping price I immediately left. You may want to have it show the lowest price, or no shipping at all until the buyer picks one.
How do you go about shipping to Australia for a reasonable cost anyway?
We’re in Adelaide so I occasionally drive out to the ‘local’ Vex warehouse, and can get a couple things from the AndyMark Sydney service for not too much. Definitely seems a lot easier than when the team started. But still ordering anything from the states is >$150! I want to pick up a couple REV parts but not sure how to go about it without paying so much.
For the last few years, we have pretty well been able to get everything we’ve needed from AM Aus in Sydney or Vex with their Adelaide warehouse.
If we find we really need something from the US we will cop the shipping if absolutely necessary, but this doesnt happen very often, probably less than once a season.
For non immediate stuff from the US, we will generally be keeping a wishlist over the season and then, because we have been fortunate enough to attend the world championships, we will ship the stuff to our pit at worlds. Whatever we get can then be shoved in the crate somewhere and shipped back with the robot.
I think sometime in 2017 and/or 2018 we did a couple of group shipments with a some other Australian teams. Essentially everyone put in what they wanted from that specific vendor and we split the shipping cost. I dont remember this happening recently though as AM and VEX Aus has been able to keep up with demand relatively well.
TLDR:
We don’t, there isnt a way to ship parts to Australia for a reasonable cost.
If we need a component right away we just have to cop the hefty fee .
Anything from the US that we want but dont immediately need, we will ship to pit at worlds.
A few group orders with other aussie teams to split costs happend in 2017-18 but havent happend since AM and VEX Aus have been around.
Yeah the missing link for us is really just REV now with no local suppliers. We generally don’t need too much from WCP and McMaster (who just doesn’t ship…)
Looking to get a PDH to support a swerve drive, but it’s not too much fun when we want a $240 product with $150+ shipping– especially given our budget is a little tight. Might have more to order from them later in the year so the cost proposition makes more sense. Exchange rate is not helping either.
Glad someone posted about their products. In Houston the machined parts looked high quality. Looking forward to seeing what we might be able to source from here as well.
Also Intrigued:)
Any update on these pulleys? Thanks!
Sent a PM, don’t want to hi-jack this thread.
