There should be a centerblock valve in the kit. The ones they got in there now, the spool stays where it is and keeps the actuator closing or opening even after the button is released. A center block valve returns the spool after the button is released. This way the actuator can be stopped at any point, not just 100% out or 100% in. THis part should be included in next year’s kit.
I like this idea and we will definitely look into it. For this year, recall that Dave Johnson showed us a circuit at the SMC Pneumatics workshop where, by using 2 DCV’s together, you could accomplish the same thing (stop a cylinder in mid-stroke). The output of one DCV became the input of the other and I believe a port on each DCV had to be blocked.
