What:
The Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS) is a resource center bringing together manufacturers, supply chain partners, pre-qualified business development specialists, and strategic partners. Due to the large presence of the aerospace industry in Washington state, manufacturing jobs are in high demand here. FIRST and CAMPS are partnering to expose youth to the manufacturing industry through summer internships. This summer we are launching a new program to further expose students to this work environment through a series of tour days.
We have asked several members of the CAMPS organization to participate in this program by offering tours for a group of high school students. This is an excellent opportunity to see a variety of manufacturing processes and facilities, and to learn about this industry as a potential avenue for future employment. Please note closed-toed shoes are required for all tours.
