I assume everyone is done with their strategy at this point, so I’m curious, did your team place a higher priority on scoring in the speaker or in the amplifier? I know a lot of teams will aim to do both and do both well. But if you had to spend your time optimizing your robot to do one better than the other, which would your team choose right now?
- Scoring in the speaker
- Scoring in the amplifier
Where’s the option for they are both really important and it varies wildly throughout a match?
If a team has the capability: do both, and make sure one of the options is working 10/10.
Sure that may mean you can only shoot from the subwoofer or amp notes can only be obtained from the source, but being great at one and functional at the other is almost necessary considering how they are linked.

For us, it’s essentially a tie because of in-match strategy. You need to be able to choose, in the moment, between speaker (if amplified) or amp (if one away from amplification & there are two robots who can score speaker cycling right behind you). We need to be able to do both is our choice.
I actually kind of agree that you need to be great at one and functional at the other. But for this poll, just vote for the one that you choose to be great at.
Currently I think we’re leaning to both, but sacrificing fitting under the stage for it.

Yeah, I put design work into this architecture but we gave up on it based on over all philosophy of: small and light robot wins on maneuverability.
Didn’t feel right cutting out large portions of the field like that.
We are definitely doing both (with the same mechanism) and still fitting under the stage.
