We use a two-layer system on top of the chassis to put the electronics. However, since our shooter is large, the movement space of the electronics is limited and it is difficult to organize it on the floor below. Since we use 16 Neo engines, we need movement space. Do you think we should put Roborio on top or PDH? Which one is more likely to cause problems?
“Visible for inspection” means that you can show it to the inspector. This includes if the pdh is on the bottom of the robot or behind an access panel.
Whichever you put on top, be sure to mount it and route cables so that it can be easily moved out of the way to service [e. g. change fuses and replace wiring] and inspect the one beneath, preferably without having to unplug any cables. Since you usually want to keep power lines as short as feasible, this suggests that putting the RIO on top is preferable, because it’s all signal or low current wiring; the largest is the RIO power itself. If you locate it appropriately, you can still allow visibility of most of the diagnostics on the power distribution.
