I’m looking for a connector that mates to the power input on the 2004 EDU controller. The FIRST website says that innovationfirst sells them, but I can’t seem to find it. This does not appear a standard “toy car” connector that is common on RC car batteries. Does anyone know the part number for this thing?
I tried looking around for a 2-slot version, but the descriptions were too cryptic for me (i.e. Panel-Mount Rectangular Connectors vs Free-Hanging Rectangular Connectors). Perhaps someone can use this information to find the Digikey part number for this item?
(NOTE: If you buy from digikey, you also need to buy the individual pins seperately. Digikey also tacks on an extra $5 handling fee if your order comes out to less than $25, so you might as well purchase all your robotics electrical needs now)
[Edit]
Assuming what you’re looking for can be described as a ‘Free-Hanging Rectangular Connector’, I believe the Digikey part number is A1411-ND for socket housing (female?) and A1410-ND for pin housing (male?). Someone who knows exactly what this part is should double check me, though…
Innovation First has both the Battery and Charger connectors that work with the EDU RC. These are also the same connectors that will work with the Battery Backup feature on the 2004 FRC Robot Controller (Full-Size unit).

No offense to IFI - you guys do a great job with the controllers, but $3.50 is steep for a 10 cent molex connector. If the above Digikey part numbers are correct, it’s 8 cents for the connector and probably another 3 for the terminals - a saving of about $3.40
This is assuming you include this as part of your general pre-season Digikey parts order (*points to $5 surcharge for Digikey orders under $25).
