We have had issues with the DAP-1522 AP power connector. The original power connector cable broke right at the connector which made it unrepairable. We found a substitute connector, but it was very loose in the socket and as result very unreliable even though it was heavily taped in place. Having intermittent power to the AP has costed us a couple of matches. No comms, no robot action.
The question is: What is the power connector part number generic and/or proprietary and where can we get a good replacement part? The original connector has a little ripple at the tip that helps secure it. Thanks
I don’t have a DAP-1522 in front of me, but if I remember correctly, it uses a 5.5 mm OD DC Barrel connector. Funny thing about those connectors, they come with two different Inner pin sizes: 2.5 mm and 2.1 mm. From a photo it looks like it uses the 2.1 mm size; if you are using the 2.5 mm size it will definitely have a poor, loose connection.
You may need to look around for this item, but I know they are fairly common.
I looked at Radio Shack online, but could not tell what sizes of connectors they are selling.
(If they (Radio Shack) wonder why they are almost ready to go out of business, I can explain why: Their listing of DC power plugs does NOT show their size. The one thing you absolutely have to know to identify if the product is right for you, and it’s not included. How dumb is that? It is like selling resistors and not mentioning the resistance value.)
