i was just woundering how many people are going to actually have a scrimage(sorry if i spelt that wrong). or are your just going to ship it and your first practice will be at regionals. If you are having a scrimage tell me where you are doing it. i am kinda interested.
our team is going to have a scrimage at a place up here in Sussex, Wisconsin. tommrow (20th) and we are going to see how our robot does ( I AM SO EXCITED )
The local Dana team builds a complete field at the Dana Testing Facility…so we’re gonna go over there tomorrow to run our robot, we were gonna go today but had some mechanical issues (wheel assembly was fubbared).
weve got an area scrimmage in the National Building Museum in downtown Washington DC that many teams go to. i wanna say about 28 teams went to the scrimmage but im not sure on that number.
We went to Chatsworth today, but ended up going back to school to get more practice time. We spent about 4 hours straight doing driver tryouts and a little programming. No real issues in any areas, at least not yet. I am happy.
Ya, like sanddrag, we too went to the Chatsworth scrimmage. We didn’t really have that much time to practice and pick drivers, so what we did was have the people that wanted to drive, that were elected by the team a few days ago, chosen, so we had different teams, and we then had then try to work together. We had some practice driving and scoring tetras in our classroom because it was raining outside at around 10 PM. Today during the semi-finals, we found out someone from another drive team driving, and someone from a different drive team for the arm, me, actually worked pretty well together. The only problem was that during the final round today, the cable we used…more or less got trashed.
LOL:D oh ya. Can’t forget that. When Jordan was driving and I was doing the arm, I see the robot arm going for that, I’m just looking at it in horror thinking just what might happen. I thought if anything, the robot would have fallen into that tetra, but it pried the velcro apart that was holding the tetra, picked up the aluminum tetra, and just tipped it over…It was shweeeet.
we have a get together today with 5 teams just to pratice today. I really like what i saw with team 56 and think there going to be one of the best in nj.
we dont have a scrimage but were working with a couple of schools so we built a half field and we will probably practice with them or practice with our prototype robots. but first we must finish building our arm…so i guess we can practice driving it on teh half field then eh.
We usually have what we call “the mini-meet” the Saturday before ship date. There are usually 4-5 teams from what I understand. We don’t actually compete, it’s more of a time to give the drivers a little experience, work on autonomous and awe at the other designs.
in arizona we have had a scrim hosted by highland highschool (the gila monsters) called Duel In The Desert, they have a full field set up and almost all the local teams come to practice and tweak their robots. Thanks highland, the practice helps!
