Pre Colorado Robot Modifications

Following our trip to the St. Louis regional, Team 1410 decided that the value of fuel was much less than we had anticipated. As a result we decided to make a major modification to our robot, swapping out our fuel intake for a gear intake.

Here are some early on videos of our gear intake on our practice chassis:

We did decide to keep our feeder station gear loader as well.
Also, special thanks go to Team 1732, Hilltoppers, for walking us through their gear intake design on the last day of St. Louis. Their advice was instrumental in us being able to complete this as quickly as we did.

Looks like a really solid design.

We are cutting our (slightly behind schedule) gear pickup on the CNC right now. We, uh, might be using it this weekend.

Edit: We got it work and definitely will be using it this weekend.

Pilot must be a student.

Kidding aside, it looks great! Continuous improvement is the key to success. Good luck!

We have made the same decision following our win at the Ventura regional! The versatility of the ground pickup is growing as the weeks go on. Hope the swap works out great, it’s never to late for improvements!
