I am pretty glad to see that we were mentioned. 1114, Good luck in winning the regional, I am sure you will.
I am surprised that they failed to mention team 876 for the Minnesota regional. They were on the winning alliance with team 1024 at the boilermaker regional. Team 1816 (Edina) should probably also be mentioned as they made the semifinals in Wisconsin and they are consistent contenders. I would also be willing to bet that this may be one of the funnest regionals because of the massive number of rookie teams. I hope to see some huge decibel levels in Williams arena. On a side note I also invite all rookie teams to come see our (2232’s) pit, it will be hard to miss as we are sporting large Greek columns.
aww we got kicked out of predictions lol. No matter, we are also new and improved and ready to score like crazy and give 1114 a run for their money…or get picked… ethier way!
Good luck to all in Toronto and we will see you tomorroow!!
I’m surprised to see that 230 wasn’t mentioned for Bayou. They had an incredible hurdling robot, and at the Connecticut Regional they seeded third, were on the second seed alliance, and were the regional finalists. I’m confident they’ll be a big player at the Bayou Regional, as well.
Thanks for mentioning 343 has being a feared team palmetto looks like it is going to be a good regional
Why isn’t 103 already going to Atlanta? =/ I would really love to see them there because of how much they would raise the intensity of the competition and I think they could help take the gold in their division.
Well, I hope team 103 changes its mind.
That’s an awesome idea btw. I’m sure they will come in handy.
Well, 1676 has made it safely to Toronto, and we’re psyched. Competition will be tough, and we’re not as confident as LF as far as getting onto an alliance…but not for lack of effort.
We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. Happy to be here
Don
hrmmm im not one to post in this normally but it seems that our Looking Forward has underestimated 870.
ven though 383 did most of the scoring for their alliance in Connecticut, 870 still captained an alliance into the Semi-finals. I don’t know if they’ll be as successful here, but in a much more forgiving field they should be able to pick up some wins.
One must be reminded that 870 has won the event from 2001 - 2003 then 2005 - 2007. And the teams that beat them in 2004 and 2007? well 2004’s make up was 311-1114-229, and the 2007 make up was 229-234-545.
Do i see something interesting here??? hrmmmm
My money would be on 870 to win this one yet again.
Yeah, GLR is insane this year, it should be a lot of fun, with so many great hurdlers my guess is that it’ll all come down to auton mode, 9 hours left!
I agree 100%, the teams that dominate the autonomous period will dominate the competition. I also think that a well rounded alliance with the ability to dominate on all fronts during human control will be lethal. Also, the ability to consistently knock off/place the track ball on the overpass will make the difference in several matchups. The alliance with the most comprehensive strategy and consistent ability to perform, not necessarily the most powerhouses, will prevail as champions. Good Luck To All!
I would not underestimate 703 at this event.
Team 1688 was not mentioned…
…and I wasn’t expecting anything else.
Our chances are minimal at best at this point. Our only hope is a pwnsome alliance.
You’d better check your numbers again. In 2006, Wildstang won Midwest & Wisconsin as well as Midwest Chairman’s and National Chairman’s.
In 2004, 254 won 2 regional champion banners, 1 regional chairmans banner, and 1 championship chairmans banner. 4 total.
In 2005, 67 won 2 regional champion banners, 1 regional chairmans banner, 1 division champion banner, 1 championship banner, and 1 championship chairmans banner. 6 total.
In 2006, 25 won the NJ Regional, NJ Regional Chairmans, LV Regional, and Newton. 4 Banners.
From watching both 27 and 217 in Detriot they both have my money to take GLR
but good luck to all the teams there, it will be very fun trying to work while knowing that such an amazing regional is being played…though there is always webcasting
I personally wouldn’t bet on any one team to win GLR, with so many good ones I think that the key to victory will be strategy and consistency. The teams and aliiances that adopt those principle will be formidable against even the powerhouses.
I call 27 and 217 for GLR. It would be nice for RUSH to take a regional. They haven’t won one since Buckeye in '03. And if any team can overcome the mechanical demons it is their pit team… Well, ok I am biased but still… I can’t WAIT to get down their Saturday Afternoon.
I believe he was talking about REGIONAL Banners.
There are a lot of teams that have won 4 or more banners OVERALL but only 1 that has 4 banners from REGIONALS in a single year.
Unless 69 and 20 get together, 40 will win the Boston regional (with 69 rather than 20 in my opinion).
