Problem: VEX encoder

Hi,

We have some problem during we test out our robot, putting VEX VersaPlanetary Integrated Encoder onto our robot. The encoder just melted and broke into two pieces. We try to put it back but it ended up having poor induction.

we don’t know what is the cause that overloads and melt the encoder, and we are wondering if it could be repaired and be used again.

How exactly did you try to connect the encoder to the robot? Can you post pictures?

It sounds like improper installation is probably the problem. Could you add a bit more info about how exactly you mounted it?
