We are trying to build a stand-alone application so that our bot can run our program over a wireless connection. The manual states to start a new real-time application under RT CompactRIO Target. However, the real-time application option isnt there. Only the Source Distribution option shows up. What are we doing wrong?
Are you building this from scratch or using the Basic or Advanced Frameworks?
Did you start a new project from a blank vi?
Yes, we started a new project using the basic framework. We also reinstalled Labview to make sure that we installed everything.
It probably means that you have not activated the full FRC development license. Or possibly when you did your last update it got un-activated (it’s happened to me).
Go to Start/All programs and open the National Instruments node.
Select and run “NI License Manager”.
Expand Local Licenses, Labview 8.5.1, Development System.
Is the “First Robotics Competition” box filled in yellow? It should be.
If not, double click it and follow the instructions. You’ll need the License number that came with your original disks. This should re-enable the “Real Time” build option.
This might seem weird, but the build stand alone application option shows up fine on an xp machine, but not the vista machine. On the vista machine it looks like everything is activated.
