[mods feel free to move this if its not where it belongs]
We are trying to get our cRIO to run WindRiver and can’t seem to get it working. We have re-imaged it to the “newest” update but set to WindRiver [from LabVIEW] and updated the 2009 driver station to its “newest” update. We then put the default WindRiver program on the cRIO. The cRIO/status light are detecting the disable switch on the driver station and says it has code (solid light) when its enabled, but the driver station says it has no code no matter what we do. I honestly think we probably set it up wrong, but I have no way of knowing because we can’t find any of the setup docs from last year! my first request is for a link to those documents so we can figure out if we did it right, and if we didn’t we will just redo everything from scratch, but if we did do all of that right, and its not working, does anyone have any idea why it could be broken?
(We understand that the driver station is not being used again next year, but until then we wanted to have some testing ability.)
If you imaged it, did you check to make sure you formatted the crio when you did so as well? It’s a checkbox on the image window that can bite you if you don’t check it. Did you also verify the correct IP?
When you redid the firmware on your DS, did you reset team number to the correct one? (This sets IP if I remember right).
Thank you very much. Yes to all of the above, but we’re going to completely redo everything monday anyways. I’ll post here about how it goes. Do you know if a new version of LabVIEW/WindRiver is coming with the kit, or if one’s out already?
Thanks for the link, i’ll be sure to check it out.
Seeing as http://first.wpi.edu/FRC/frcupdates.html does not have any updates, people can use last years WR/LV to learn off of, and the only “new” thing that we dont have a replacement for is Java and the Black Jag, where as last year was a whole control system, (and the WR license doesn’t expire until January) I would say the new version would be coming in the KOP
You can’t use the V14 cRio image with last years wpiLib, you need to install the last available 2009 cRio image I think it was v10. Only the the Java teams can use V14.
Of course, I cannot guarantee anything I say is correct, HOWEVER:
The beta test is still going on. Additional updates are still being released.
A new version of labview WAS provided to the beta teams to test with. Likewise, I’m pretty sure FIRST isn’t going to want people using different Crio image versions.
I would /guess/:
A new labview version, most likely the one supplied to the teams with the hundreds of megs of updates pre-installed. In addition, I’m betting there will be a new “final” image that will be shipped WITH that labview version.
But we won’t know until we actually open the package after kickoff. This is just my ‘best guess’ based on the beta testing.
Tom you are correct, I’m sure everyone will use the same image. But, for now only the Java teams can use the v14 image. C++ and Labview WPILib need to be updated to support the new image.
