hi we are having trouble with the radios, rs-422 (radio that goes on the robot). we get standby on the radio (robot)
and flashing no data/radio. can anybody help us?
Cris,
I assume you have power hooked up to both the robot interface and the operator interface.
Do you have your team number properly set on both the operator interface and the robot interface? If they don't match you will get that error.
We have that same error after the units initially worked... we have a bad robot side radio unit... yep it can happen, plus it's flacky. a bump causes it to turn in and off. we had to switch to last years unit until we can get a replacement.
Hope this helps
Best Wishes
Steve

First of all, make sure everything is plugged in (both ends of cable; one to RC and one to radio; as well as another cable with one to the OI and one to the other radio). Also, make sure that you have the right radio on each end (in my experience they still work if you switch which one is on which end but do it any way just to make sure). Also make sure that the OI is plugged in and turned on. Also, try to connect via Tether to see if the problem is in the radios (or cables) or in something else (RC, OI, etc.).

A few days ago we had a communications problem with our '01 robot which turned out to be the cable between the radio and the receive box on the robot. Such problems are rare, but they sometimes occur.
Last but not least, the radio modem is a 900 MHz device so nearby cell phone towers and cell phones can confuse the beastie. This of course assumes that all the above are satisfied. (Power, connector, good cable, etc.)
