Hey everyone!

I was thinking about my team’s production schedule and wondering how much different it must be on other teams. Every team does this whole thing their own way. I think it’d be kinda neat if teams would post their week by week breakdown so that we can see what other approaches are used.

I’ll start:

Week One - Strategic Design
Week Two - Concept Solidification / Wood Mockups
Weeks Three & Four - AutoCAD
Week Five - Build and Troubleshoot
Week Six - Test (bash into walls, down stairs, etc)

Right now we’re right around where we should be. AutoCAD will be done on Friday and we’re planning on getting a bulk of the robot done over the weekend. Materials should be arriving just in time.

How is your team doing?

P.S. - Andy B, is your spare robot built yet?

I know what you mean, the individual schedules of each team must vary greatly. This is the rough breakdown of Team 69’s ‘ideal’ progress…(we make no claims that we actually stick to it!

Week 1 ~ Brainstorm and decide on machine’s basic functions. Begin design.
Week 2 ~ Continue design, and break into subgroups. (one for each part of machine, and the various other jobs on the team like Chairman’s and animation)
Week 3 ~ Build and break prototypes, select drive team/human players,
Week 4 ~ Break some more prototypes, change design, and really get building
Week 5 ~ Finish building, and debug
Week 6 ~ Last chance for driver practices…test some more, fix what breaks…and panic because time is now up!
