What would be the best way to start on C?:ahh: I am clueless?
Should I get a book or an online resource, or someother way so I can program the robot controller

If I were you, I would buy “C Primer Plus”, which is published by the Waite Group. It should be in stock at most major book stores. It will cost around $35.

I have no affiliation to the Waite Group, so I have no personal interest in recommending that book. I just thought is was well written, easy to understand, and somewhat entertaining.

This book is a good introduction to C, and should be enough for you to get to know the basics of the language - enough so that you can further learn on your own and with the help of reference guides.

“Learn C in xxx days” type books are a good structured way to go. I have been very impressed with them in the past.

Someone on this forum has mentioned this before, But i suggest you go to howstuffworks.com . They have some good tutorials on the very basics of C. I think this would be a good place to get started.

I’ve found that the “Learn [language] in xxx hours” is also a good book.

You could also just goto your local book store and look for which C-programming book best suits you.

The SAMS series of books are excellent for fast paced learning, but for true understand I suggest getting the C Primer.

Here’s the link: The Basics of C Programming | HowStuffWorks

I think it’s a very good introduction, and it’s free.

In case anyone is still in need … I just ordered this book from Amazon.com. It got very high customer ratings, and used copies are available from as low as $1.47 !!
