Project Management Explained

When I was a project manager at Andersen Consulting I kept the following sign posted in a discrete place:

The Six Phases of a Project

  1. Enthusiasm
  2. Disillusionment
  3. Panic
  4. Search for the guilty
  5. Punishment of the innocent
  6. Rewards for the uninvolved

Where is your robot today?

This seems a little morbid.

Thats interesting
I think most teams are in one and/or two, three and such don’t come until either the last week or two, or during the competition, and I believe the others follow quickly after that.

Not surprisingly, we’re still enthusiastic. What is surprising however, is that we’ve actually accomplished a very important task, which we usually don’t even start to think about until week 3!
