Proper wiring for a Talon SRX to Encoder

Right now we are doing some pretty questionable wiring from our Talon SRX to our Grey hill 63R encoder (http://www.digikey.com/catalog/en/partgroup/63r/11554) and we were wondering if there is an actual wire for this scenario.

(apologies in advance if we are missing something obvious)

Sorry, but surely you realize that folks in industry spending almost $100 for an encoder would just twist some wires onto it and hope it works. Right?

Before I help, I want to see that you did one or two iotas of research yourself. Come back when you have.

Boy… those pins sure do look familiar. Where have I seen pins like that before?

I was just wondering if there was a cable that has the connector for the talon on one side and the .1 pins. I haven’t found a cable that I could use for it, I was wondering if they are available somewhere. I saw that the breakout boards from andymark, but I feel like those might have issues with the wires falling off. Sorry that didn’t elaborate before…

I have been using the breakout boards. The wires are secure. They boards screw onto the talon itself. I recommend going that route. The. You can use any female-female .1 cable you want to your encoder.
