Note that “CPVC” usually means chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, not cellular polyvinyl chloride. Regular PVC is available in either cellular-core or solid, and chlorinated PVC is available in solid (only, as far as I have ever seen).
(Also, this is precisely one of the considerations that I was worried about when the 2025 game piece pre-order thread happened.)
In Canada, the CPVC (i.e. chlorinated PVC) pipe that was available in home-improvement stores at the time of FRC flagholders (c. 2007) was in copper pipe sizes, rather than schedule 40 sizes. Maybe that actually works to teams’ advantage this time.
