So a question we had, hoping someone who has seen an actual field is able to answer. It was hard to tell from the pictures of the field, but with how the brushes are aligned, can you pull the hatch straight out? Or do the brushes interfere, and you have to lift it slightly? Thanks!

From what was shown in the Deeper Space part of kickoff, they can be pulled straight out with no issue.

I was at new hampshire, and took this photo of the hatch itself in the loading station but did not record the presenter moving it out of the slot. From what i can recall, the hatch took a slight nudge and basically fell forward.

ATannahill is correct, in the Deeper Space presentation the HATCH PANEL was removed straight off multiple times with ease. Those brushes are really soft (I’ve got those on the door to my garage) so I completely believe the HATCH PANELS come off easily.

Yes it can be pulled straight out. the brushes are there to keep it from falling out of place.

The hatches are held in by a door sweep (Frost King Model #C35PH) which have fairly soft bristles. You can buy a sample if you want to try it out for yourself (it’s about $8 at home depot).
