I haven’t seen anything in the rules as accidentally gathering a second or third ball when pushing the first ball. I know that a robot is only allowed to possess one ball, but will a robot really be penalized for accidentally gathering a second or third ball while maneuvering the first one?
(This scenario is with a plowing robot)

The key word is the definition of POSSESSED. If you spin the robot or back away, do all but one of the balls no longer remain with your robot? If so, you have not POSSESSED more than one ball, and you are not breaking any rules. If not, you receive a one point penalty per ball.
