We are building up a demo robot using the CTRE Hero Board. A few of the motor controllers will be PWM. Can anyone help with the physical connections we need to make into the appropriate ( P ) type Gadgeteer ports?
Most PWM motor controllers require two connections: PWM signal and GND.
We recommend using the generic 10-pin Gadgeteer breakout modules to expose the individual pins from the Gadgeteer ports. You can then solder your connections to the required pins on the board.
See the HERO User’s Guide for the exact pins that can be used as PWM outputs on the ‘P’ port (Section 9.4.4 has this).
If you have multiple motor controllers, you will need to solder multiple connections to the single GND pin on the breakout.
