I’m pretty sure it wasn’t mentioned, so for qualifications, how are the points decided? Like i remember Woody saying not to like decimate the other team, but if it happens, what will the points look like. Like last year you got your opponents points or something like that, so I’m wondering if thats carrying over.
It’s the same as last year, it seems - win/loss record comes first, and the average score of your opponents will be the tiebreaker.
This comes from Section Eight of the manual, by the way. I think 8.3.3 to 8.3.7 is what you’re looking for.
Yes same as last year.
When you are ranked for elimination rounds, you are first ranked according to how many matches you have won… 2pts for a win, 1pt for tie, 0pt for lose.
Then, if you have say, 3 teams that are each undefeated, then they rank you by your ranking score - which is average of all the losers’ scores you obtained from each match (if it’s a tie, you get your own match score for points).
So if you cream the opponents 100pts to 5pts, you won the match, which is good, but it doesn’t potentially help you too much in the long run.
So it’s in your best interest not to annihilate your opponents because you may go undefeated, but you could still end up in 3rd, 4th, 5th + place going into elims, due to the ranking points.
It’s explained well in the manual starting 8.3.3…
