How to calculate the retracted and extended length of a cylinder for our Robot if we use one cylinder for climping abore
Force = Pressure x cylinder area
I read FIRST Robotics Team 358, Hauppauge, NY Pneumatics for Newbies
Designing a Pneumatic Solution,
Leverage Force = Cylinder Force x sine(applied angle)
I’m sorry, is this a question?
I think he is asking how to find the LENGTH of the cylinder?
It should just tell you.
which cylinderi need to hang 70 kg robot , so to choose the right cylinder I need to get the job done?
Force = Pressure x Area
Force = Pressure in PSI x Area in Square Inches
Force = Pounds
So essentially when you multiply your PSI pressure by the area of the cross section of the cylinder you’ll get the force in pounds.
Find how much force you need, in pounds, and go from there.
The cylinder with the larger bore (diameter) yields larger force.
I found This worksheet PneuMoment® Sizing Spreadsheet
http://www.bimba.com/Library/#Tools
assist in calculating PneuMoment’s load carrying capabilities.
It performs the calculations shown under - “Application Consideration” for PneuMoment. The worksheet uses some of the calculated values to perform other Load carrying calculations.
Also This worksheet performs the calculations in Metric measures.
