Hello fellow FRC teams, I have a quick question regarding where the robot can shoot to score on the playing field. Our team has had a bit of confusion over this matter.
So my question is, where on the physical playing field can Blue or Red alliances shoot the balls they have collected? Is it on the opposite side of either alliance’s spawn or on the same side?

You shoot on the same start your robot starts on, but the opposite side of where your driver station is.
Regardless of your alliance color, your goal is to get the balls to the other side. You as the drive team will be able to see the goal. The only thing that is along your own wall is the loading station.
Alliances: Blue on Left, Red on right
Power Port/Ball Goal: Blue right, Red Left
You may shoot from anywhere on the field with exception of your own sector (see @Aaron_Li’s post).
Ok, so the robot can score points on both ball goals?
No. Perhaps a re-reading of the game manual would help clear all this up.

I’m going to steal the picture from this post. Assume you are RED.
You can shoot FROM anywhere not fully inside your Sector (on the right) without a penalty.
You want to shoot TOWARDS the area marked “Target Zone” on the left side, where the goal is.
There are no restrictions about shooting at your opponents’ goal (on your side of the field). However, your alliance partners will probably be really mad at you.
