Question form a team: Can we use gas shocks purchased from an autoparts store? Do they fit the definition of a spring?
Official answer:
Based upon past practice we have not allowed teams to use them and they are not on the additional materials list. Their usage has been discussed in prior years and there was not sufficient interest to add them to the list of additional materials. To add them at this late date would not be in the best interest of the league. If there is sufficient interest by teams they may possibly added next year. This needs to be noted on the evaluation and suggestion form at the end of the season.
